Managing Litigation

Litigation is expensive. I can't make it cheap. But I think a lot of litigators go through a lot of steps that are unnecessary just because "that's how it's done." I don't buy that, and you shouldn't pay for it.

Litigation processes should have a purpose. Not all cases are the same, but all too often they are run as if on an assembly line. This shouldn't happen.

Although Aa case that involves a small amount of money might well involve complex legal and procedural issues, and be more expensive to litigate than a big-money, simple issues case that's simple. A, a small money case still needs to be closely managed so that the bottom line to the business is positive.

In other words, you don't want to spend $20,000 to get an award of $10,000. The bottom line shouldn't be written in red.
